The Bicycle Source was a small bike shop located in Southern California founded by Mike Buff's brother Steve Potts in 1980, the shop became the epicenter of the BMX Freestyle movement. Many of the sport's freestyle bmx pioneers and now legends started their careers out of the shop as it was a place where you could get your bike dialed in and customized however you wanted it. As the sport grew the shop became known as the "Mecca" of freestyle bmx. Any day of the week you could come in and find one of your favorite star riders getting his bike dialed in before a big contest by master mechanic and shop manager Steve Blackey.
Even though the original shop closed in 1994 The Bicycle Source continues to be remembered and followed by fans around the world.
